Point of View

Travel  Iron

We aim to create a iron that's lightweight, compact, and userfriendly. This innovative design consists of two parts: an iron base and a movable handle, offering enhanced portability and efficient ironing for travelers on the go.

Our intended audience consists of students transitioning to hostel living and travelers. They are seeking an energy - efficient, compact iron that can effectively handle a small load of clothing. In addition, this iron s hould be easy to transport and user - friendly.

Target Audience

Research on ergonomic designs were made, keeping in mind the user experience. Therefore the iron handle is made at 15 degrees, diameter of the handle.

Ergonomics & Functionality

If Smeg were to manufacture an iron, they would likely use traditional manufacturing methods commonly employed in the production of irons. This typically involves using materials like plastic for the housing and a metal soleplate for the iron's base. The manufacturing methods could include techniques such as injection molding for the plastic components and perhaps die-casting or precision machining for the metal soleplate.
